England 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Loire Blue
[Sold] 1993 Landcruiser 4.2 VX manual

[For Sale] 1993 Toyota Landcruiser 80 VX manual Report post

RELUCTANTLY FOR SALE

1993 Landcruiser 80 VX 4.2 Manual

White with grey leather seats
Removeable 7th seats in boot
154000miles(barely bedded in!! these engines are good for half a million+ miles)
very strong engine
good gearbox
3 difflocks (all switchable and appear to work)
heated electric front seats

I have only owned this car since november after i took it in p/x for my supercharged range rover. Since november i have done the following-

Removed all the wheel arch extensions and had any rust under them repaired/painted(common rust trap)

Fitted 2" milner lift kit(spring/shockers)

Fitted 4 new window rubbers to cure the painfully slow windows(common land cruiser fault)

Fitted new winch bumper and rebuilt modified Warn 9.5 ti winch(modified solenoids and bowmotor)

Adjusted fuel pump so it now goes like a 4.2 turbo should go

Fitted a side exit 2.75" exhaust so it now sounds like a 4.2 turbo should sound

Fitted flip out stereo with DVD player and built in satnav

Fitted a centre difflock switch(allows difflock to be selected manually in high or low gear)

Fitted LED interior lights

For a 23 year old car it is in very good condition and runs perfectly

BAD POINTS- just being upfront with everyone

Few small dents on body but really good for age
n/s/f wheel arch been repaired but could do with a bit more work to tidy up
Headlamp washers missing(easily sourced)
could do with bigger tyres in the future(285s 315s??) to compliment the 2" lift
slight wear on leather but no tears
Black coating coming off centre console (hopefully will be sorted before sale)

Anyone who knows about Landcruisers will know that the 80 4.2 is considered the strongest land cruiser ever built as well as one of the most reliable cars ever built. They really are built like trucks. For years they have been the choice of many overland explorers. If you have kept an eye on the prices, they are very sought after now and prices are on the up

PRIVATE PLATE NOT INCLUDED AND WILL BE REMOVED PRIOR TO SALE

£5250 as it is
£4850 without winch
£4600 with original bumper(bit scuffed) and no winch

It is a 23 year old car with the odd dent/mark but minty ones are going for much more

May p/x for D3/Range rover cash either way(admittedly it will probably be your way at this price Mr. Green )

The 80's were good the 100's even better whereas the 200's although very capable are less rugged and began leaning more towards the soft road brigade The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

You obviously haven't driven them off road, the lack of traction control on the 100's along with the open front diff could leave you Embarassed

At least with the 80's you can lock all the diffs, the only thing that the 100's did better was road handling, but at a price..... they are way complicated and less reliable Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

^ "You obviously haven't driven them off road"

I have in Australia... both 80's and 100's (without the air suspension) and the 100 was superior in every way Thumbs Up The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

A 100 with out the "air suspension", which is Hydraulic by the way, is a re-bodied 80 series with a tuned engine, and is actually a 105 series not a 100. Which don't have a diff lock on the front, and are pants off road Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
