Only had it 6 months and it was an absolutely awesome machine and, no surprises, the best car we have ever owned. My wife was not happy when I said it I had traded it in!

If I was honest I would say that I was punching above my weight in this car, it always weighed on my mind simply how much money was tied up in it. So, after 6 months I felt I wanted to release some of the money and trade down to s more modest SUV.

Fortunately I bought well and at a very good price from Farnell in Nelson. It was a 9 month old ex LR management SDV8 AB. The price paid was about £77k and I have just received £72k as a trade in, this wasn't inflated by lack of discount on its replacement, £72k was a standalone underwritten value. So, the upshot is that j have effectively received my original deposit back and the overall cost is 'just' my monthly finance payments.

I thought this was a a very good result as there appear to be lots more used FFRR appearing on the approved used website. So I got out relatively financially unscathed.

I dont think a BMW X5 is any where near £72k probably saved about £30k ? ?

I did release a fair bit of money, i didn't use all of the equity in the RR towards the X5 and, unsurprisingly, I pay a considerable amount less per month on the BMW. So I achieved my aim, albeit I now drive a less capable, but nevertheless, very nice and desirable SUV.

Think you got a cracking price for you trade in. Just take a look at what the LR site is selling 64 and 15 plate AB's for and it's hard to know how they are going to turn a profit. Unless of course they sell at or near to their asking price
