Questions questions

Seems to be a suggestion that the oil supply pipe has been redesigned
Mk 1 to Mk 2
Is this right? So if I change to Viton rings I am being clever but really getting the new better Mk2 parts when the OE rings break down may supply oil better to my turbos ?

Do I need to change oil and coolant to do the job?

Is it a matter of time, and all will leak at some stage, so better as a preventative rather than remediation?
Same with gaskets on oil cooler?

Those labour rates don't look that bad from a MD so can't have been that difficult or taken them that long.....

My Westie warranty runs out in July so I'm going to start a really thorough check of everything over Easter to make sure I don't miss something which might be covered 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Interesting pricing that's been passed to the warranty company Stan.

If memory serves, Ducky Dan was £100 cheaper for a starter motor, thought the oil cooler was about the same.

Mine is still in the Dealers Stan with the same issue as you. I have had the cooler, the pipes etc changed but still the leaks.
They have just phoned me to say that it is a drainage pipe that is at fault and they are looking to see if they can get this done under warranty...will keep you all posted...

Jeff I need more help than most...sorry !!

I've the oil leak under the oilcooler.
How does one remove the airintake manifold on top of the 4.4 TDV8 engine as it is in between the 4 rubber hoses.
Do I have to take of one valve cover?

Thanks for the advice.

Loosen the jubilee clips and slide the hoses as per arrows.

another oil leak

Thanks all the info above and help from this forum I was able to find the correct O-rings and fix the leak on the oil feed pipe early March.
But last week a new leak appeared, so I ordered the two gaskets for the oil cooler and changed them.
With no result as it is still leaking.
As in the V now all is dry, it must be coming from under the RH turbo, above the starter motor somewhere...
Both LR dealers near the place I live are fully booked for the 2 coming weeks ( why would that be?).

If I take out the starter motor, is there enough space to see the underside of the turbo above and have access to the oil feed pipe? Could someone confirm.

Thanks
