Got a MY 16.5 prelim delivery date...go for it or wait?

Evening all,

My 1st post. A little nervous of you lot but trust your opinions/advice! I've just got a preliminary order date for May for a MY 16.5.

My RR is my sanctuary (escape from the kids/wife/dog...in that order). Always wanted one, currently have a 2013 VSE. Love every single drive in it. Taking the plunge and going for an ATB. Would value your opinion on my build + whether worth delaying for the MY17:

3.0 TDV 6 Autobiography, Santorini black, all Cirrus interior, Seat 24, Head-up display, 21" Alloy Style 101, sliding roof....

Cheers all

There's a lot of rumours about MY16.5 being an external facelift - but it could also be pushed out to MY17.....

Looks like a minor tweak, but will be noticeable none the less - hot rumour is removal of the fake side vents and new headlights - http://www.autoevolution.com/news/spyshots...4255.html#

Clearly, an early facelift car is desirable - and a late non-facelift car less so.

There seems to be no solid info at this point, so a bit of a roll of the dice........

Thanks Alistair. I need to think and roll that dice, though I agree with xxxAngel, I do like those vents.

Infotainment is the big deal (even though the new system isn't supposed to be up to scratch either).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to go for the 16.5 as can have it in about 3months. Not sure when my lock down date is for any changes but if I can change, thinking of adding traffic sign recognition. anyone recommend this? I've seen a couple of posts suggesting the colour on the dash are off putting. Also, opted for full leather steering wheel rather than wood/leather (just personal choice) but second guessing myself. Appreciate your feedback again. Cheers.

I prefer the full leather wheel.

I don't have the sign recognition, so can't comment on that.

I actually prefer the wood/leather steering wheel.

Wasn't a fan at first but it has really grown at me. Thumbs Up 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

+1 for the wood and leather. Just looks a bit more classy to my eye.

All-leather, much less cheesy.

Mine was delivered with the leather and drove it for a week before swapping it for the leather/wood. I definitely prefer the leather/wood although it's clearly a personal choice. But the other two drivers of my car also prefer the wood/leather...

I have the heads up and traffic sign recognition. Definitely recommend. HUD is an expensive option but I do find it good.

Thanks for this. Good to know I can change the wheel if needed. I think now that's it for me on factory changes as I have a build sheet. Didn't add the traffic sign recognition but did include HUD. I hope I don't regret missing out on that option.
