Fixed Side Steps on the L405

Does anyone on here have fixed side steps on their L405? I know of BasilFawlty, and thats about it.

General thoughts from those who have them?

Are they a nuisance and get in the way, or do you like them.

I've been trying to find pictures of L405's with them fitted but couldn't find that many photos online

Cheers
JKay

Cheers for the photo Stan.

They seem to look like they stick out quite a bit so am just wondering if they tend to get in the way when getting in and out (ie for taller people who choose not to use the step)

My 6 year old daughter would benefit from having a step and I'm thinking of going down the "fixed" side step route as opposed to deployable

I retro fitted some to my L405 . Some 'less tall' people were having issues getting in and out. I can either use them to get in or just step over them, I don't think they protrude too much. I looked around the net but eventually bought mine from the main dealer who discounted them for me and then fitted them myself , but in retrospect, I wish I'd paid the dealer the money to fit them as they take quite a bit of time to fit if you don't have a garage ramp handy Sad Steve

Hi again jkay. Just think on that the steps make getting in and out a lot easier and if you intend to intend to keep your car for some time they really help keep the side bolsters on the seats looking like they should. I'm 6ft 2" and I use them, rather than stepping over and potentially causing excessive wear to the chairs. Thumbs Up

Good point BasilFawlty

In all my other "lower" cars I'm very careful how i get in and out of the vehicle.

I actually (always) "lift" myself out trying to avoid wearing the seats out as much as I can. Some people think I'm crazy but oh well Razz

Put some on our car and took them off 2 weeks later!
Kids and wife kept getting dirt on their clothes when getting in and out of the car. 2017 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

Fixed side steps are definitely the way to go.
They are actually used as a step (unlike the blingy deployable ones), they finish off the look of the car in my eyes.
They come with front mudflaps integral so you need rear mudflaps too.
Wouldn't be without them
