This is most interesting - I was under the impression that my brembos were an upgrade. Evidently not.
So when it needs pads - what do we recommend? Upgraded aftermarkets or standard fit?
Same for discs - what gives it more "stop" ?

Perhaps those afflicted with the same "disease" as mine should look for a group buy to all upgrade Rolling with laughter Ash

I think to some extent it is in our heads.

I have 2 pot calipers on the front of the disco, never I have I thought OMG I'm not going to stop, even when I've had to stand on the anchors!! Yes the brembos are better, but Are we really saying that LR fitted cars with "inadequate" brakes? Bigger discs, pads and calipers will obviously stop a car faster, but what do we think the actual difference would be?

It would be interesting to know!

For this I thinks we would need a runway, some flags and a tape measure Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Gents, to further my earlier post. If you have an 09my 3.6 with 2pot brakes you cannot use the older type 4pot Brembo’s as an upgrade as the bolt holes in the castings will be way too large without using some form of spacer/reducer...

The bolts that hold the calliper holders (2pot) or the 6pot Brembo callipers are something like 12 or maybe 14mm whereas the older MY 4pot Brembo’s use 6 or 8mm bolts...
