Crank case oil seal

Posh word for sump gasket I believe is leaking gone into to get done under warranty apparently a very involved job, do any of you guys know which way they will tackle it, engine out? Or subframe drop and suspend the engine? And is there anything to watch out for, I must admit I'm quite worried main dealers don't inspire me with confidence, Sad
