Folding mirrors - sort of

Today while parking up I pressed the mirror fold button. Only the drivers side folded in. I lowered the passenger window an got SWMBO to gently pull on the mirror while I tried to fold it again. This time it folded. When I unfolded it, it did it by its self. So I tried to fold it in again and once again it failed but worked with a little persuasion. I would assume that the motor is ok but there is obviously a problem somewhere. Has anyone had a similar issue and can point me in the right direction please?

I'll give that a go, nothing to loose. Cheers.

I had exactly the same and a double tap worked for me too! There was mention of removing a fuse if it didn't work to reset them aswell. Worth doing a search as there was a fair bit of info about it they go out of sync for some reason!

The nearside mirror now folds.........by its self without even pressing the button! When I have my towing mirrors fitted, the air pressure folds the mirror in slightly. I suspect the motor or the gearing. I have watched the YouTube video by powerfuluk explaining how to remove the mirror but I think they did it on a HSE. As mine is the Vogue the trim panel on the inside of the mirror is different as mine has a speaker there. Can anyone tell me if removal is similar or what else I meet to do.
Thanks.
