Flip Key

Got a new style flip key from Daveo this week (cheers Daveo Thumbs Up).

Before fitting the transponter chip and going through the sync process I decided to check the threads to see if I had missed anything in this simple process, BAD move, to much knowledge is a bad thing! I'm now completely confused Embarassed

What's got me so confused is,

Once I remove the transponter from my spare 02 BMW key, do I just fit it anywhere it will go in the flip key? does it not need power?

In the 06 style flip key do I need to remove its transponter? so I don't confuse the cars EWS.

Sorry for the daft questions.

Cheers.

The new one shouldn't have one... the old one is just a piece of plastic, looks like a bit of rubbish... it has an RFID chip in it, like the things they fix on products in shops to stop you stealing them... works all on it's own without any electricity... wedge it in down the front nearest the key blade Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Pete Thumbs Up Thought the small block that looks a bit like original transponter on the top right of the flip key board was a transponter Embarassed
