Are all oils the same?

My 06 TD6 ffrr has 134k on the clock. As I use it to pull the tin tent I intend to change the engine oil and filter annually regatdless of mileage. The handbook recommends 5w40 fully synthetic to ACEA A3 + B3. I can get Comma oil to this spec for £18 per 4.5l. Is there any reason I should chose a "branded" oil such as Castrol for example, or are they all equal if they meet the required spec?
