It's no wonder these things have a 100M range, just read the manual and see they take two 12v batteries. That's a crazy 24V! Shocked

The batteries were on clearance in my local Tesco last week - 80 odd pence down from £3+ Thumbs Up

Anyone know the definitive sync method? Is it hold down the off or the on button or both? And is it fuse 59 to pull? With the ign on or off?

The receiver just needs to lose power, so ign on or off is of no bearing.

Here are instructions for a T80 from a German website:
- pull fuse and wait 10 sec
- replace fuse and press off within 3 sec
- between 3 and 5 secs later press on
- between 3 and 5 secs later press off again
done

Steps 3 and 4 weren't listed in the MG forums - if it doesn't work with the simple method maybe you can try this...
RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr,
P38, and 2 L322s
(wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too)

The little book that comes with it says

Programming Telestart Transmitter

1. Place Batteries into the battery compartment of the transmitter
2. Remove fuse 1A (black) from the heaters fuse holder (voltage interruption)
3. Wait at least 5 seconds
4.Replace fuse in heaters fuse holder and within 5 seconds press the OFF button on the transmitter for a least 1 second
5."Learning" is completed

For future reference:

Disconnect the earth from battery for at least 15secs, then re-connect and within 5 secs, press the "OFF" button on the FBH remote for 1-5secs.

Many thanks to Kin for taking the time to post what worked for him.

Another one for the WiKi!

1A would mean 1 Amp in any sane world, but they dont come in 1 Amp varients. Also how many fuses can there be? Well over 100 in multiple fuse board locations!

Indeed.. I read it as a fuse fitted to the unit as opposed to the car itself. Confused 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Censored that for a game of soldiers. The unit is buried under the battery. I will disconnect the battery for a few minutes..

Actually I tell you what I'll do first - I'll unplug the receiver module, that's gotta be a better way of doing to save discharging every circuit.
