2007 Roof Rails/bar????

Hi all have searched and read a large number of posts here and on other forums and I am still unsure if there is a roof rack/rail/bar system that can be fitted and removed without having to cut the 6 channel covers out of the roof any help much appreciated as I dont like the idea of butchering the vehicle

What do you want to carry & how often ?

I've got a Thule rack & it works well.

I didn't want the fixed system as I only use it occasionally and I also wanted bars the full width of the car, not just the centre ⅔ of the roof.

Yes there is, they are called Sports Bars and fit to the front and middle fixing points - just flip the covers up and screw them in, very easy to fit and can be fitted/removed with no permanent modifications to the car.

Example here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-L322...2582048e74

You can also use Thule bars which don't utilise any of the fixing points on the vehicle 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

The RR fixed bars are (I think) a little wider, so depending on which roof box you have, you may need to make some adjustments.

This system is very good, but does mean snapping off the covers in the roof rails to fit...

Yes I did look at these and thought they looked good its just the fact that the rails have to stay on all the time after snapping the covers off I assume the same is true for the Landrover version which to me is nuts having said that I wonder how many people prefer the rails or no rails ??

I've had them on my last two FF's and they were fabulous. The fore & aft rails stay fitted forever and you just take the end cover off, slide in the roofbars Thumbs Up

There many fitting points made the sliding bars very flexible Thumbs Up

A late update for this thread. The Rhino Racks RLCP legs with the M166, M167, M168 feet don't require removing the covers. I have them on mine.
