It was a quantum agent in Lucan , Dublin He looks after the car for me and the remap gives the car a nice extra surge that's really noticeable on each gear change 2015 4.4 AB

So, assuming the MOT tester probably won't even open the bonnet, it's a bit of a moot point then? Whistle

MoT tester has to open the bonnet, both to test it's latching security and that the battery is secured

BAS can do a remap with the egr's disabled. And you can use the IIDTool to flash the remap Whistle

BAS remap with mapping out the EGR is another good solution. It just didn't suit me at the time. ______________________________

TDV8 no power / white smoke

Hello together from Germany,

i have a very bad problem with my '07 TDV8 and hope someone can help me.
283000km - i was on the Autobahn and suddenly i had a loss of power (60% loss). Shocked Shocked
The car didn't went faster than 100km/h. No smoke, no trouble code in instrument, no wrong noises.
I went to the side of the road but there was non problem expect from the power loss so i decided to drive slowly home.
After 10 km i recognized the car starts to smoke white, so i let it bring to LR by flatbed.

The Landy Dealer first said both Turbos are smoken after he put a tester on it and there was a trouble code, but there was no black/white smoke while i drove. Nevertheless the TDV8 had a lack of oil when they looked.

Today i received a phone call in which he told me the engine would have a fatal damage because it runs not smooth. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Does someone has an idea what could be a alternative problem, because i can hardly believe both turbos have gone up...??

If there's no oil on the dipstick then turbo failure is likely. The next question is how bad is the motor and what else needs replacing eg intercooler and EGRs. If the motor runs you might be lucky and only have to replace the turbos. However I would be getting the EGRs mapped out, disabled with emulators or new EGRs fitted. You don't want to fit new turbos only to have the EGRs break apart and bits fall into the motor. ______________________________

Correct, there was only a few millimeters to minimum on the dipstick. The engine runs smooth when running with no load but the car smokes from the left exhaust fume like a steam train..

To map out the EGR is a difficult thing in Germany due our "TÜV-AU" exhaust regulations are very strict and if you map them out it's detected via OBD and then you lose the permissibilty of the car -->new EGR.

Is there any trick i can check with a tester or else wether it's only the turbo. Maybe some compression test ,etc..?

That's good news. Best way is to check the output hose from the turbo to the intercooler. If it's got lots of oil in it the turbo seal has failed.

EGR emulators and be fitted and removed in minutes.

You could remove and check the top intercooler hoses for a split. You really have to remove them to check properly. I'd start there as it's easier. ______________________________

Unfortunately Land Rover did already check the hoses for little splits as they said they do it every time with no result.
The guy from the LR service told me there need be a trouble code in the instrument cluster if it was only the EGR..

How much hours do you think will be needed for a single turbo replacement ?
Is it definitely necessary to put off the body or can it also be done without ?

Had my done recently and its an engine out job , took my mechanic about 8 hours in total and we reconditioned both turbos while we were at it and we changed the turbo hoses for the silicone ones because they would be impossible to do normally. 2015 4.4 AB

Together with a LR mechanics i started the RR, it runs smooth but there was coming a little blue "fart" out of the engine departement and additionaly there came very little blue smoke out of the left exhaust fume. Please excuse my bad English, but it has been a while ago since i wrote English...

Just my opinion but recon turbos are the same as new if bought from a reputable source and get the two turbos done at the same time 2015 4.4 AB

Hello together,

yesterday i started up the tank after cleaning the air intake, MAF, MAP Sensors. Car runs smooth but burns oil..
Right Side of the intercooler had a bit of oil in it.

Hope the youtube video link works to show you the smoke..

Whats your opinion on the turbo? Could it also be a defect oil separator?
