How many people have collected a brand new RR and found the door panels to be slightly dented?

I collected my car a couple of weeks ago and three of the doors are damaged - one really badly! It occurs beneath where the handle is and it is about the width of the handle and goes downwards about 150mm.

One of the cars in the showroom had it but only very slightly.

Apparently it's the robots that can be a bit heavy handed!

Anyway - I am really brassed off as my brand new car is now in the body shop!

You'd think they would have picked it up on quality control inspection, but it seems the days of premium brand checks has gone out of the window. Tom

Yes, I agree and said as much when I collected it. The most badly damaged door is really bad and anybody doing a basic inspection must have seen it - I wonder if they thought I would miss it.

I find it hard to believe its the robots at the factory - they've been making them long enough to have ironed out those sorts of issues surely ?

This would be an interesting one for the lawyers - why should you be without a vehicle when you have purchased in good faith

Andy if you are serious about rejection PM me as I have had fun with a reoccurring fault that ended in rejection.

I wouldn't have thought that a bodywork issue, getting rectified, would allow you to reject under "not fit for purpose".
Having said that, the attempt to have you accept it like that is disgraceful and should be taken up with LR head office. Just my opinion 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted

jonnyboy54321 - I have not spoken to a solicitor yet and you may be correct in that it doesn't meet the grounds for rejection.

I will call LR customer relations, but in all honesty, In past experience I have not found them to be very good and of course in English law my 'contract' is with the dealership.

Maybe they've moved the robots from the Defender section to the Range Rover section?

Recall it being quite normal that none of the Defender panels would be truly straight even out of the factory.  African Bush Junkie ... in London!

Ha Ha - Brilliant!!

I have owned 3 Defenders and infact my other car is a 12 month old tarted up 90 HT - You are not wrong, the panel alignment and ripples are astonishingly bad, but for some reason us Defender owners have sort of put up with it as being part of Defender ownership!! (I'm not quite sure why because the car cost new £36000 12 months ago.)
