BBC 2 caravaner of the year

Apart from being excruciatingly embarrassing ,
The motorhomers only came second
This has to be a FIX.

Clue is in the title Rolling Eyes

Most excruciating 2 hours of TV I have ever watched. Whistle

Reckon I would have been in with a shot, just need a Mrs who can:

A. Maneuver a caravan
B. Read a map
C. Cook in the van
D. Wear thigh high boots and a mini skirt....... Whistle
E. Put up an awning

At the moment if we entered, not that we would, we would loose. Badly. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Fascinating programmes. Like watching a documentary about animals you know nothing about. Twisted Evil

We only watched them because we are contemplating buying a touring caravan for the first time. Not sure some aspects of 'the scene' are for us.

Honestly it's great, but I think there are 2 types of caravanner.

Those with kids
Those without kids.

Simple as that. As a break with the family it's really good, but would I want to spend my weekend in the tin tent with just swmbo.... Whistle that's what hotels are for. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Shameful....I couldn't watch the 2nd programme as was so disappointed with the first. The Caravan Club forum page for the programme was deleted as thousands of people critised the delivery of "Caravanner of the year"

Personally...it could have been really well executed, and it simply wasn't.....not even one family entrant Rolling Eyes

Not all of us live in 1957, my wife and kids love being away and my reversing skills are fine thanks, if people come to ours when we're away there is always cold beer and wine and a BBQ going and I Autoglym the 'van twice a year. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

^agreed !
We have a lovely tourer, we enjoy being away, especially as I can take the dogs. No motor mover for me, I can reverse the thing almost anywhere thanks. SWMBO is an excellent cook either inside or on a (charcoal) barbie. And none of us have to grab a shovel before going for a dump.

The programme was excruciating to watch, nearly as exciting as watching the grass grow in winter. If that's the best they can do I despair. It really isn't like that in our world of caravanning.

Please could you expand on "D".

I came home and this was on.

My wife had stuck it on so she wouldn't miss Mary Beard's programme on Rome. However, once it was on she found it hilarious.

I thought the best bit in the first program was where the Chairman of the Caravan Club ripped the back end off his caravan when attempting to pull it up the slope in the field!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

^ As soon as he started, I said to my wife that he was going to ground out and I'm not a caravaner never mind the head of the club! At least he took his mistake in good grace.

I somehow managed to sit through the first one, only fell asleep twice briefly, so thought I'd watch the second one as I thought it could only get better..................I was wrong!!

It didn't resemble my caravanning experience in anyway at all...............thank goodness!

Probably the worst advert for the hobby possible Shocked

We've only been caravaning for 5 mins! And nothing on the programme relates to what we do!!
What a very poor insight into caravaning ...................... 2007 VOGUE SE 3.6 TDV8
