Towbar part found what is the part called ?

.....And what else do i need to make the Towbar complete, haven't been that fussed for having a Towbar as yet but if ithe rest of it is just a 'bolt on' and plug and play electrics that I can do myself ....then why not Whistle,

Looking through the posts then PF Jones seem to be the place to go according to most on here,

So what other parts do I need to order, would prefer the removable type I'm thinking....

Was Just laying under the FF finishing off painting the Calipers and drums and......then see this for next job Confused

Part found.....(would this suggest there has been a Towbar here in the past or do all FF have this part as standard ?

Sorry to dissappoint, they aren't part of the tow bar.

You take them off when you fit the bar, and are just part of the recovering eye Thumbs Up

You need the whole armature and tow hitch assembly plus electrics.

Indeed. There will two such pieces left over after tow bar armature is installed.

If you are thinking about a new detachable tow bar have a read here: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic36884.html

I'm not sure why everyone raves about PF Jones - they ain't cheap and in my experience not particularly helpful either. Certainly not the place to go IMHO. Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Got the last one done my a local tow bar fitter. Then programmed at LR (may or may not need programming) worked out OK money wise. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

What vehicle are we talking about?
I have a 2004 4.4 and I got all the OEM Westfalia kit including the OEM electrics from PF Jones as they were cheapest I could find and was all plug and play and to confirm I have the original towing eye bits in my garage

I'm not raving about the supplier I just used PF Jones because I simply wanted the tow bar Land Rover would fit (Westfalia) and I only transport a bike that weights a few lbs and is only worth a few quid so any old cheapo would have done, no 20 grand caravan hanging of the back of my car and there never will be while I have it (SWMBO seems to be with Jeremy Clarkson on this). The electrics come from a company called Right Connections and they have all the plugs etc just to connect up to the car, I think once you tell the car it knows to sort out parking sensors, self levelling, the extra light etc etc but I did need to use an IIDTool to tell the car. Very Happy

DIY is easy, I know 'cos I did it Confused Geoff

When I brought my Range Rover to use for work I spent one and a half days trying to find the best deal for a Land Rover fitment tow bar, P F Jones were the cheapest suppliers that I was able to find, that supplied OEM Tow Bars.

As I have said many a time Westfalia make just about all the major structural assemblies for Land Rover..... you really don't have to look very hard under a ffrr to find a Westfalia sticker Thumbs Up

And has already been pointed out they do make the recovery eye and exhaust mount brackets, which need to be removed before the tow bar can be fitted Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
