Air suspension: Compressor exhaust valve removal

Guys,

After reading some of the air suspension posts I went to remove the air suspension compressor exhaust valve/filter. Mine seemed to be quite tight, can someone who has changed one advise me does it screw out or pull out - and did you have to use pliers?

Thanks,

Stephen

The air pipe fittings have a ring round them where the pipe enters the fitting this ring has to be pushed towards the fitting to enable the pipe to be pulled out in other words push the ring pull the pipe Porsche Cayenne

Guys,

I don't mean the air pipe fittings which I know have to be pushed in before pulling the pipe out, I am talking about the brass coloured, thimble sized compressor exhaust valve.

How does it come out, unscrew or pull - anyone know?

Stephen

Some of the filters screw out and others are a press fit. Best to use something like a pair of water pump pliers and hold firmly whilst turning it anti-clockwise

Im not sure which model you have but the 06MY WSM says to press in a retaining pin and pull of exhaust. I can be anymore specific I'm afraid as that's all it says.

I think we're talking about the circled part in the picture:

I have tried to remove it too but I'm not sure it unscrews, it's that stuck...

From what I've been told some are threaded and some are a press fit.

Twisting it out anti-clockwise will remove it no matter which if the two it is

i would say your compressor is struggling, hence slow and overheating so yes new compressor time. 2004 black Vogue TD6
