I bought a Discovery

Yep, sold the Defender, and now have a 2008 Discovery TDV6 HSE in Stornoway with black leather.

This will be the shoot bus. Just going through my cleaning routine inside it today as I've had it for 2 hrs now. Got a few things to put on it to modernise it too and just alter the look a bit.

It's an awesome car and rides smoother than the RR Big Cry Discovery 4 HSE

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Good combination. My 5 years of D3 ownership brought very little drama and the TDV6 is a much stronger power plant than the TD6 of old. I miss mine....it's a good choice Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Thumbs Up I dunno about the ride, and the cabin quality bears no comparison, but the overall go/stop/steer is better. Awesome is right. Graham

I had never heard about a better ride. Might be worth checking all is Thumbs Up with the suspension in the RR.

Your SC must be truly shocking ride wise if you feel the disco 3 is better 😂😂😂

Welcome to the D3 owners club!

Satnav update is easy, Bluetooth is best replaced with a D4 unit, gearbox update worthwhile to avoid a 3rd slouch issue some owners report, and suspension compressor and update should be on the list as well Smile
Deffo keep the services done well before LR intervals and look at replacing the oil pump as well Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I drove a D4 in South Africa all the way to the Kruger park, through and back and have to say they are very nice driving cars. After driving one I thought, is the RR (at that time my 4.2 SC) worth that much more money and honestly NO.

But my 5.0 I find a nicer car to drive than anything. The Disco has the advantage of more useable space inside but looks wise the FFRR is way nicer IMHO. I'd buy a D4 as a second car next to a FFRR but still would drive a FFRR as the no.1 but only second hand where the price difference is not soo much Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Adam, my wife asked me why you've bought a *shoe box* instead of keeping the Defender - not to mention that the prices for a Defender are going to the sky ..... Neutral Whistle All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

Frank, prices are keen but the general feeling is that the high prices out there are speculative. I got good money for mine, bought the D3 and had about half the money to put back in the bank.

With all the kit in the D3, comfort levels, extra space etc, it's a no brainer. A much much nicer place to be. Discovery 4 HSE

Lots of electrics and other stuff to go wrong (at that age on a high end Disco 3) and it will of course continue to depreciate at a good rate - there is a reason why you were able to put half your money for the Defender in the bank.

Sorry to be negative, and what do I know anyway, but I think I would have kept the Defender Confused

We had an 07 HSE for a four years. More expensive to maintain than the current Range Rover.

Great car though.

Wife really missed it and prefers it over the Range due to extra space in the back of it.

Cheers and enjoy Alex
