3 litre petrol supercharged

I've hear a lot of discussion here about the V6 diesel vs the V8 diesel. Then Angel will (correctly Mr. Green ) point out that you should just get the V8 SC petrol. But what about the 3.oL V6 SC petrol? Any thoughts? The L405 may be lighter than the L332, but it's still a lot of car to haul around and it won't have the torque of a diesel. I've driven the engine in a Jaguar XF 3.0 SC, but that's a lot lighter. Thoughts? Comments?

I'm pretty sure that engine isn't available in the UK.

Never driven one but when shopping around the salesmen I spoke to said for some reason that model doesn't sell well around here. Don't know how accurate that statement is either but I must say I don't see too many around either 2015 SDV8 Autobiography - Black, Cirrus, 22" Style 707 Wheels

I didn't think it was a UK option, but I hoped others would know.

Thanks, Jkay. Interesting.

Sounds like it might have the unusual combination of being as slow as the diesel and as thirsty as the petrol...

They use the SCV6 in the D4 in various places, salesman in Cape Town told me it's not popular as it has to be revved so much to make it go anywhere and the SDV6 is better. Discovery 4 HSE

Read somewhere that it's popular in China. It is also very popular in all jaguar models in China.

Diesel in China is very poor quality and only really used for trucks at the moment.

Diesel is still viewed as agricultural in many parts of Asia

That coupled with the poor quality of diesel as mentioned by wealy means diesels quite unpopular there.

THere's also a great lack of knowledge about diesels. When a DPF clogs up they don't know what's wrong and think the whole engine needs replacing and panic sets in (I've seen this happen a few times)

So yes the 3.0 SCV6 will probably be popular in Asia as a cheaper alternative to a 5.0 SC 2015 SDV8 Autobiography - Black, Cirrus, 22" Style 707 Wheels

Thanks for all the info, gentlemen. Bow down
