New Posts function (not)

Hi Martin,

am experiencing probs with the new posts function - when i click it after being away for a while (hours or days) it only pops up a few of the most recent posts and if I go into each forum topic there are loads of unseen posts which don't appear on the new posts list. I haven't changed any settings or anything and it has only just started to happen in the last week or so (maybe due to the recent frenzied activity that initiated all the ejected teddies and kicked over prams??!!%&) Evil or Very Mad)

can you help or what can I do to help myself?

I know my names not Martin but can I suggest you use a link like this:

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/search.php?...p;hours=12

The link above is set to show unread posts in last 12 hours which is what I use but you can set any period Thumbs Up

When you happy drag you link to your Bookmarks Bar and your away....

There is a long standing bug in this forum software which causes the problem you're seeing - it can often be cured by clearing out the cookie for the forum, then closing your browser, restarting the browser then logging in to the site again.

This will start the new posts list from scratch (so on first logging in above there will be none), and it should reset the behaviour so it works again.

Alternatively, you can use the "View posts from last:" links from the bottom left of the home page Smile

I noticed this today as I always use the 'new posts'. Never been a problem before. Confused

Last few days have seen a whole page of 'new posts' every time I logged-on, and yet today, only a few.......

I just can't imagine what would be making the difference........... Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile
