I don't think anything is a must have. Pretty much everything is down to personal choice.

First choice is trim level. For me, the only choice is Autobiography but I'm in the minority.

Pano roof is generally well regarded (but some don't like it)

Electric towbar and electric deploying sidesteps are both hideously expensive to retrofit and some people feel they need those features. I don't have either and utterly unbothered by it.

Privacy glass is a bit marmite too. Most cars have drug dealer glass though.

Adaptive headlamps can't be retrofitted. I thought I'd miss them more than I do. Ideally I'd have them but now not fussed that I don't.

Second the pano roof. Probably easier to sell on with that feature.

As above really.....

I doubt you'd find one without a pano roof - but some are opening and others are fixed

I have the electric steps but turned them off immediately - others love them.

I tow, so wanted the electric bar - it's a £3k retrofit, so a deal breaker for me

There's a premium 'signatugre' sound system that's something like a 6k option - so if that's your thing....

Executive rear seating - for some a must have, others would rather have 3 seats & the ability to fold them

Wheels are easily changed.

It also depends on how long you have to find the right one and where you're prepared to buy from.

I just set a budget and decided interior & exterior colours, then drew up a short list from the Used LRsite as I wanted a main dealer 2 year warranty - then got on the phone.

Doesn't AB kind of rule out the complete absence of a pano roof ?

I'm not sure a solid roof is even an option, but could be wrong.....

Pano roof is standard, even on the base Vogue. It's whether is opens that's optional. I wouldn't have one that doesn't open, but it's personal choice.

Some of the earlier cars didn't have a pano roof - it hasn't always been standard.

There was a supply problem at one point, so if you wanted a car, you had to have a solid roof.

I think that maybe all the AB's still got them, but not really sure.

There will be so many different opinions, it's so subjective. For me, am on my 2nd L405 and would prefer Seat Style 24 and pano roof as the extras I'd want on any future L405. Didn't have either on my first one. Got head up display now but wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it.

Opening Pano roof was a must for me.

TPMS was an absolute No No. pitfa on a previous car.

Adaptive lights was a must have, along with high beam assist.
