England 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black
Guess who's back.....?

So after a few years away from the FFRR fold, a change in circumstances means I need to sell my 2014 SL500 AMG and get something the dog will go in.

SO - back to Range Rover I go!

Just pulled the trigger this afternoon on a 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE which has had the Overfinch Aero GT conversion. I don't actually know if it's a conversion or came from Overfinch - not sure I care - but how would I tell?

Black on black and has got all the usual goodies on the Vogue SE plus RSE. Will get some pics up shortly.

Probably going to be a week or so before everything is done and she's sat on the drive, but I'm back.

Who's still about that I used to chinwag with?

Couple of pics. Not the best as they're lifted from the dealer's website.

That looks like Rix motors in Warrington

Just a warning, I hope you've had chance to inspect yourself as, despite a reasonable reputation, I wouldn't trust Rix

I test drove a black Vogue there four years ago when buying my current RR

Got there and we jumped straight in the car. On the test drive I went through various checks as per Buyers guide and advice on here.

The compressor was shot (vehicle rising slowly message, salesman said "Its nothing to worry about, they all do that") the near side wing mirror didn't fold or dip and the heated screen was broken.

Post test drive, looking round the car it was apparent the vehicle had been in an accident and the near side front wing (and other bits) had been replaced.

The salesman was adamant it hadn't been involved in an accident, even after I showed him the overspray in the engine bay, but what took the biscuit was they'd left the masking tape over the headlight washer jets and it was freshly sprayed in black paint!!

Bunch of cowboys in my experience, but I hope your vehicle is straight as it look fantastic 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Thanks Graeme.

No money has changed hands yet. Will make sure I give it a proper going over and do an HPI.

Appreciate the heads up. Thumbs Up Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Just to add we bought a car from Rix and we've had 5 years of trouble free motoring. But best to be wary of any used car dealer.

Congratulations on the new motor. I too put a deposit down yesterday on a 2011 FFRR. Should pick it up next weekend.

Cheers

Have to say that Rix were great. Drove it down from Warrington for me without any money changing hands (I live in Surrey!) and gave me a stonking part ex price for my SL500 over the phone.

Car is great. Not faultless (I'm hard to please) but all the important stuff is there. Full main dealer history (all Guy Salmon Knutsford) apart from the last one at an indy and I'll be using an indy from now on anyway, so that's no big drama. Ex demo and one owner since he bought it at 6 months old. All electrics, suspension, cameras, fluids, brakes etc spot on. All panels look original to my eye - certainly no sign of accident damage and HPI clear. Wheels immaculate, tyres all good.

Tiny little car park scuff on the rear bumper but nothing to fret about - my bodyshop guy will sort that for a few rounds of drinks.

Couple of irritating niggles that they didn't pick up on - the passenger carpet mat is missing - but (because I have OCD) I was planning on buying new carpet mats anyway, so not a deal breaker - and the remote control for the RSE was missing which is very odd. Why would you remove that? Anyway - I found an unused one on eBay and they've paid for it, so no worries there either.

Only had a chance for a quick blast this afternoon, but already impressed with the creamy power delivery and seemingly limitless torque. Feels much much quicker than the 'on paper' numbers and the leap in refinement from my 2007 4.2 SC is marked.

Already irritated with lack of iPhone 6 music connectivity (made me appreciate how bang up to date a 64 plate Merc is) but will get that sorted with one of those Tune2Air gizmos for £60 ish.

Not got any great plans for this one - maybe some side steps and mud flaps if they'll fit with the Overfinch side skirts, and will colour code the Overfinch badges (not a big fan of chrome).

I say that.......I may have already been looking at DMS and JE Engineering's remap blurb....
