United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Giverny Green
Sourcing TD6 injectors

Hi all,

Been lurking for a while since buying my FF at the end of Feb, and already amassed quite a lot of knowledge from here.

Anyway, my FF is a 2004 TD6 Vogue, Giverny Green, 122k miles, 1 owner from new, full history etc. Other than that it has been remapped almost from new, and had a box rebuild and new TC last December.

The problem is that over the last few weeks, a misfire has become more evident when on really light throttle cruising between 50 and 60mph. That has now become a misfire at idle, slightly lumpy idle, and juddering when manouevring at low speed (ie. in drive or reverse and just creeping).

Searching for these symptoms on here always comes back to one or more dying injectors. Took it to my garage, where the owner is a die-hard RR owner. He said straight away it's an injector, or more likely 2.

So it's booked in for next Tuesday, and in the meantime I need to source 2 injectors. Is there a preferred source for these? I've found this place online who seemed very reasonably priced:

Has anyone used these guys, or can recommend another source?

Cheers,

Not used them, I bought mine from Dan @ Duckworths a few years back, that does seem very cheap . A standard refurb on your own injectors would normally be more than they are asking..

Yeah I did wonder whether that was a little too cheap.

Also seen Autopost Land Rover in London are listing a few on ebay, although at confusingly different prices!

It looks very good value to me. It is more or less a standard rebuild of your own since they want your old ones.

I would be far more inclined to buy from these people than the dodgy E bay sellers.

Try diesel Jones.
They give £30 cashback when you send your old injectors back so brings the £126 cost down to £96 per injector.

If you know what injectors are causing the issue then you could try DIY as they can sometimes come out easily enough. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Thanks for the heads up on Diesel Jones Thumbs Up

Yeah in times gone by I wouldn't have hesitated to DIY it, but these days just don't have the time! 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped Smile

Just to update on this, got my injectors from Diesel Jones, arrived next day Smile

Car went into the garage, they spent quite a while trying to identify which were the duff injectors. Apparently it wasn't obvious and they had all injectors out etc, not sure whether they were swapping things around or not.

Anyway they identified injectors 3 & 4 as the weakest so replaced those.

The good news is the misfire and shuddering etc are gone Smile

The bad news is that I have what sounds like very loud tapping / diesel knock now particularly on light throttle. Sounds like one cylinder. I'm thinking that all this Censored around with injectors has caused this.

Going to take it back in next week, but does anyone have any thoughts? 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped Smile
