As long as you use the correct fluid adn genuine LR filters etc I don't see how they could. There's EU rules on this kind of thing.

What does the maintenance schedule say about if/ when that should be changed Stan?

And either way, if you had it done at other than an LR garage, how would they know (in any event, as one example, are VAT registered garages not allowed to do work provided genuine LR parts are used... Or does the policy wording preclude that)?

And and and... Is it not a similar principle to all of those who do preventative maintenance like DIY changing the transfer case fluid and front and rear diff oils etc because those parts are all covered under warranty Question

.....understand how you feel, Stan.
you could almost wonder, if you are allowed to wash it, with unapproved shampoo! -and if no-one was looking, could you jetwash the wheels.

....certainly not allowed to open the bonnet. thats too technical. Shocked

My girlfriend had a problem with her washer jets blocking up on her BMW 1 series and the dealer would not sort it under warranty as they said it was not BMW approved washer fluid that she put in!!! Sad

I went into battle with them and said that she has never lifted the bonnet on the car (as she doesnt know how to) so how can she have put non BMW fluid in? They eventually sorted it and I found out it is a common problem on that model due to the position of the tank.

Dealers will try and crawl out of anything if they can find a reason. I wouldn't risk it Stan, well not yet anyway.

interesting....

my thoughts are that the warranty will mend mine if something goes wrong so preventive maintenance might be an un- necessary expense. ... - .- -.

How many miles has it done? When I changed mine it was about 80,000 miles and I wished I hadn't bothered after I did it as the oil was fine that came out. I think if the car has done a bit of towing its important to get it changed.
