Advice on Brand New FF with painted door!!

Hi all.

Just after some advice, i purchased my FFRR Autobiography brand new three weeks ago and it is fantastic! Very Happy
The last two days it has been with a certified Gtechniq technician for a crystal coating on the paint work and alloys (highly recommended treatment and chap, let me know if you want any info!!) i collected it today and he showed me the rear passenger door, at some stage after leaving the factory it has been painted! Evil or Very Mad there are some overspray marks on the two rear windows and window trim and also some orange peel (more than normal). As you can imagine i am tapping about it,
It was a car they had in the showroom, and was then changed for another model at some stage so presumably left outside until it was offered to me at very good discount so not a factory order form me.
What do you think i should do?? i have just spent £650 on the coating so don't really want to demand a replacement Shocked because it is spot on.
over £100k its not good service is it! 2010 defender utility

Agreed this is poor, especially at that price, but maybe it accounts for your discount. One would have thought they could have dealt with the overspray on the windows and trims at least. There have been threads on here about 405s being damaged in transit, perhaps that is what happened to yours.

I would ask the dealer what happened and also compare the car with new ones in the showroom. I have seen orange peel on 405s, especially from the rear wheel arches to the back of the car. If you think you can trust the dealer, the explanation is not sinister, the finish is OK by comparison with other new cars and you are otherwise happy then it is maybe a case of asking them to remove the overspray (if you trust them to do that without damaging your protective coating) and leaving it at that. Only Range Rovers since 1988

This happens far more than people think, lots and lots of new cars get damaged at some point between manufacture and delivery... Most owners will never know....

Have a moan, see if you can get a few free services or an extended warranty or something similar... Thumbs Up Pete

A mate of mine works in the quality section at Bentley. The stories he tells me bout what they have to do to some 'new' cars before hand-over beggars belief. As said, in most cases the punter does not know.

In this case of course he does. I for one would be pushing for a replacement not a damage repaired 110k motor. Censored 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

There was a £20k discount off this one - so rather unlikely that you will be able to swap it......

I guess if you couldn't tell, then don't worry about it.

bear in all honesty if your detailer is good he should be able to clear off all over spray and make it near perfect, then i would not worry.

Looks lovely even though i can see the door paint from here! Rolling with laughter

Just teasing you, enjoy.

What worries me a bit is the over spray is on the hydrophobic Windows and trim, well the trim can be replaced but what will happen to the window? Is it a coating? 2010 defender utility
