NYC trip tips?

Hi all

After everyone's great help and suggestions with Vegas at start of this year, I was wondering if anyone had done NYC?

Every year at start of December we do the Christmas Markets normally in Berlin, but have choose NYC this year. Unfortunately we have limited time there. Land 6pm Thursday 1st and fly out 8am Monday the 5th so just a long weekend. Hotels not far from Time Square so pretty central. Anyone any "must sees" or tips?

Want to get a list to cram as much in as I can, Shopping, Christmas stuff, and sight seeing, and with short time there is like to get a rough plan together.
Am guessing somehow try to fit in:-
Empire State
Ground zero
Statue of Liberty
Somewhere decent to get a pastrami sandwich
Macys

Cheers so much in advance. It's real appreciated

Sorry..

Every site I'm looking at for tips are saying its the done thing to buy a NYC discount card that gives you entrance to 3-4-5 sites. I.e statue Liberty, View from the Rock etc. Apparently you can jump the ques with a Vip line?

Or did you just pay as you go?

For a short trip i would definitely get an open subway ticket , so much cheaper & faster than cabs. You will have to make a shortlist of what you want to see, but take a wee bit of time just to wander about, one of my favourite places .
