Bluetooth and DAB

I'm very new to FFRR ownership and I'm getting myself a bit confused with the entertainment system.

I have a 2005 Vogue (TD6) and it has the touchscreen Nav, so am I right in thinking this is the MOST system ? In the central cubby there is a phone cradle that the previous owner referred to as "for a Nokia". But he pointed out that the module in the boot was faulty, so had been bypassed so the rest of the system still worked. What I am trying to work out is:

1) Can I remove the "Nokia" kit and fit an OEM bluetooth module, and if so is it straightforward ?
2) Is there a DAB module that could be added to replace the current analogue receiver ?

The searches I've done all seem to discuss the earlier or later models and I don't want to go and source the wrong bits Embarassed

Yes, it's a MOST system, so the previous owner will most likely bypassed the BT module on the fibre loop.

1) I don't think so but you can get an upgraded one.

its one of the taboo's of owning the 2005-2009 most touchscreen FF's Pete...

on the earliers FF's you can replace the head unit fairly easily but for yours its not really possible....there are aftermarket plug-in dab units like PURE that will do the job.. ... - .- -.

Thanks for that - so DAB would have to be an aftermarket add on - I can live with that.

Back to the BT side of things - I've just taken the Nokia module out and its an XVJ500046. If I replace this, will I then have BT in the car that I can connect to with my iPhone ? Or do I need to find a replacement module, then get it upgraded so it connects to my iPhone ? And does having the kit in the centre cubby cause any issues ?

The part number seems to have been superseded a few times, what difference does it make - the latest seems to be XVJ500420 - would that still need to be upgraded ?

Thanks Confused

Is the cradle not just that, a cradle?

The Bt module is in the boot lhs cubby, I'm pretty sure all cars came with it, it might be worth seeing if it is faulty and un bassng it.
Then Try searching with your phone for the Bluetooth, it will say not fitted on the screen in the car but you have to search with the phone.

I think the code is 2121 but could be wrong.

Previous owner might have just no been clued up on how to use it. Failing that an upgraded one from Wigs is the way to go. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

2121 is corect. It may be that the BT unit, if there is one, needs re-flashing. I had to do mine. Used the Gap iiD tool. John

The Nokia module is toast - I could see faint copper staining round the pins in the unit so cleaned it up carefully, reconected the fibre and everything stopped working - just got the Land Rover screen ! I've re joined the fibre as it was previously and all works again. So I'll be on the lookout for the later module to fix and upgrade it Thumbs Up
