Can you reset mpg computer?

Had this for ages and everytime I reset it it goes back to this.. would understand if I had the 5 litre sc version

That is not a bad mpg for standing still

What happens after you do a few miles actually driving around? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
