l322 or l405 what would you do

Hello one and all ive been thinking of getting a l405 for the past few months but my dilemma is this I love my l322 which I got in june of last year
I do like the new shape though I paid 37k for my 62 plate 4.4tdv8 with 42000 (which I think is up at 60000 now)
I'm still looking at 50 to 55k for a same spec 6month to a year newer than mine do I just enjoy my l322 a bit longer and wait till the l405 prices come down ??
regards andy

+1 Drive one and you will know Thumbs Up

Personally, leave it for about a year, that gives it some more time for the issues, whatever they are. to really come to the fore re what engine is best etc.

IMHO a late L322 will depreciate faster than an early L405 for a while yet, so that gap isn't going to get any smaller.....

I've not looked back - I prefer my L405 in just about* every way Thumbs Up

* my only gripe is the back seats don't go flat when folded

Are you guys suggesting you would take a small engine l405 versus a big engine l322? OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog

There was a conference last month at Wembley (the footballist place). It was for owners of the most unreliable/infuriating car in existence award. 60.000 people turned up and YES the 322 won!!! I am yet to be convinced. based on evidence, that the 405 will not continue this legacy Rolling with laughter

In hindsight, I wish I'd kept my 322. I enjoyed it far more than my 405. Don't get me wrong, the 405 is an excellent machine, but it's soulless. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

the 2012 L322's are the last of the true FF shape...the L405 is probably technically better and some like it and some dont, only you can decide if the extra funds needed is worth it.. ... - .- -.

Not sure what gave that impression......

I'm not.... I've got the SDV8 Cool

Not quite sure what that means - if it mans quicker, quieter & more reliable, then I guess it does lack some of the 'soul' of the L322 Whistle

Our 2012 has been totally reliable.

Do like the sleeker looking L405 and when next to one, yup, ours might look like the Dalek/ the poor relation.

Accepting arguments about the L322 depreciating might mean the cost to change gap isn't going to close, £20k extra for a car in the region of 6 months newer seems steep, no matter how much better it is.

Each to their own and suppose it comes down to what people can afford/ how they fund and what they are willing to pay to keep up with the game/ technology/ the Jones's, whatever the reason.

My personal opinion for what its worth... Like for like, the 405 is not worth a £20k premium... As nice as they are, I wouldn’t pay a huge premium to sit in one... Bow down
