Hey Gaz,
The symptoms you describe are when the chip is missing altogether - did you replace it? It sits under the circuit board next to the buttons. Looks something like this:

Only about 8-10mm long, 4mm wide and 3mm thick. It's easy to miss because it doesn't look like anything electronic or even anything worth saving. I hope your trash has not yet been picked up Shocked

i had the same problem until i noticed the tiny chip on the lounge floor ! Apologies if i've posted this on my phone and it contains strange spelling and punctuation.. i just can't be bothered to correct it Very Happy

As Avi says, not attached to anything. It just sits next to the rubber button inlay (upper left with the key blade pointiong upwards) under the circuit board. There should be a pic with the instruction sheet that came with the buttons.

Do some searching! It has to be somewhere! Howbout the dustbag in the vacuum cleaner?

I was really hoping for you. I saw that you had posted here and wanted to read 'FOUND IT!'

Do another search on the floor around where you replaced the buttons. I once sprang a steel ball out of a synchro for a Austin Healy gearbox about 5meters from where I was working - and found it. It was only 1/4th the size of your chip...

THanks Steve,

I spent all morning going through two bin liners full of waste (youngest was sick the night before Big Cry ) with gloves on outside in -4 but to no avail I could not even find the discarded black rubber bits!!!

Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and order a new one at £187 + VAT F**K Crying or Very sad

Just ordered it at £167 inc VAT as a trader with local stealer.

Did you have to have the new key programmed (not synced but programmed) at the dealer and how much did they charge?

PS: I opened the good key and saw that the black chip sits under the board on the black rubber just as stated earlier in thread. As its stuck to the rubber its very east to throw it away when replacing the rubber so beware Embarassed
