had a D3 for a couple of years, now thinking abouta FFRR or RRS; in the region of £21k ...I know i may regret swapping but i really want leather and a few more toys...

for those who have made the move, whats the best bit about having a FFRR.. and what may I regret?

and a specific question if i may about sat nav?

went to see a RRS and FFRR today

anyway the bluetooth phone unit in the HSE spec FFR 2006 looked similar to the 2007 HSE RRS

both had a touch screen but the FFRR had no sat nav option

is it possible to enable this feature, in the same way i have read that offroad sat nav can be enabled on the standard unit?

for example does it require the purchase of a gps unit, or are the parts already there, just not connected

any advice anyone?

For 21k you should be looking at a 2006 model Facelifted FFRR with Sat-Nav as that kind of money would get you a Vogue I'd have thought. If you want toys, that's the spec to go for. SE and HSE are lower spec cars.
Fixing up a lower spec car is a waste of money when your budget is good enough for a Vogue.

The best bit is having a fantastic vehicle that not everbody else has.
Vogue has TV, Satnav, heated steering wheel and seats (front and back) amongst other things.

Did exactly what you are proposing earlier this year, moved to a 06 TD6 Vogue - all the toys and in a world of its own for quality. You will not regret it unless you use Terrain Response all the time.

I am amazed at how strong the RRS prices are, yet to see a FFRR vogue for that price as well; you dont happen to know of one do you?!?!

The thing is, most people wanting a FFRR take a while to find the right car. If you are in a rush you'll end up paying over the odds. 21k is fine for a 2006 model, you don't really want to be spending that much on a pre-facelift.

I agree, Sport prices are holding too well. When I first got my FFRR in 2008 it was only 2k more than a Sport of the same year but it was a whole lot more car for the money.

Thing is, the Sport drives like a nice car. Didn't excite me at all. But The Range Rover drives like something special. FFRR all the way if you have the choice in my opinion.

Ok... what doesn't the D3 have that the FFRR does?

I ask because having been on a Landrover Experience in a D4 I can honestly say that the D4 was every bit as luxurious and capable as the FFRR and also has the extra seats. In fact other than the differing layout I'd find it difficult to justify a FFRR over a D4.. how different is the D3? 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Good luck with the search mate. The RRS is a great car I have to admit (yes I am bias) but the FFRR is great in it's own ways as well. They appeal to different sectors of the market.
