I have automatic lights ?

went down a road today with trees overgrowing, got to the end of the road to find my headlights were on, my switch on the dash has off, side lights and main lights, it's a 2003 model and where I'm not complaining I just didn't know I had it

Did the early cars have auto? I thought that came in on the 2006MY

SWMBO's 2011 DB9 doesn't have it Laughing

Mind you, I don't use it 'cos it makes me lazy and I forget to manually over-ride in fog etc. Pre-senile dementia setting in. That said, you have to use auto if you want high beam assist to work, not that I can't use a dip switch though.

And did they go off again once you got through the trees to a brighter area?

Me thinks dodgy switch or wiring on a MY03......or do you have DRL's turned on for your dipped headlights, or something wrong with courtesy lighting settings (see me home) ? .

Sorry for Fred drift, but, what years and models have the cornering light in the sidelights?

I think that was only the adaptive lights. They were optional, certainly from MY06 onward but I'm not sure about the earlier cars.

there is no options on the light switch just off side and main, but they defiantly come on automatically and quite sensitive to, went down another road this morning with trees in between them lights were flashing on and off like a disco

Wonder if you have an aftermarket sensor/switch fitted? Not heard of one on the forum before though.... .

Still doesn't sound right to me... you need to do some tests.... do the rears come on too? Do they come on if you cover the windscreen? I'm thinking the sensor could be there if aftermarket.....

Like Mr 90... never heard of one fitted though. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I was going to fit this to mine

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VALEO-LIGHT-ON-a...Sw0QFXDBm-

I've had auto lights on most recent vehicles before the FF... and thought I would miss it, but can't say I have... with most modern cars they put the dash lights on all the time so it's easy to think the lights are on at night, with the FF it's like the dark hole of Calcutta at night so no problem...

£35 saved to spend on repairs.... Rolling with laughter Pete

When I was doing one of my many dash top removals, I noticed that when the light switch was disconnected the lights came on Shocked

So I can only conclude that in true over complicating Range Rover fashion the lights are on all the time and the switch turns them off.... Rather than the more conventional way of doing things where the lights are off and the switch turns them on Rolling Eyes

So, if it's not just my car that's been wired up the wrong way round, then it could be a dodgy switch Confused Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
