Feeling a little low? NEW Battery required?

I have got to share this with you Very Happy A new 020 battery with a 5 year guarantee, delivered for under a ton Mr. Green

Wot can go wrong Rolling Eyes Not a lot actually, ordered on friday, arrived on monday, fitted today, and the car actually starts Thud

http://www.puredrivebatteries.co.uk/i1-var...ttery.html

And for those purists out there, the battery that came off the 'ang''over, was a genuine Land Rover item, and it sported a Varta brand in the case as well Thumbs Up

My only FYI is the tracking info page on their website is unreadable, so I had a weekend of fretting, but monday morning first thing I started to get messages from the carrier giving me delivery times Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

No nothing required other than a 10mm spanner, and a screwdriver to get the bonnet in to service mode.. it's the 2011 on that require programming Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I fitted the 020 varta battery on my 08 TDV8 as per Miggit's recommendation recently.
Great service and the price was excellent too.
The 020 is a real squeeze, but doable.
Can't believe how quickly it turns over now, makes all the difference.
The real benefit is the FBH of course.
Anyone in need of a new battery can't go wrong. Thumbs Up

Hi Miggit, not that I need to change my battery yet, but is that right, programming is needed to change the battery in my 2011 Vogue? What does it entail, need to got to Landrover dealer.?

Hi ya buddy, still going everywhere in reverse at night? Wink

I have seen to different bits of info regarding the later ffrr's,

Firstly they have a different battery, they have an AGM battery... still the same size but slightly different internals to the one listed above.. but I still reckon they would be a good place to look Very Happy

I've seen posts that say the battery doesn't need the ECU resetting as long as it's like for like swap... and then someone else said that it needed to be reset because the ECU adapts the charging to the battery state.. which obviously changes when it all gets a bit old.. this is plausible too... lets face it if Land Rover can invent a trip to the dealer they will Evil or Very Mad But all is not lost as the good old Gap IID Tool will do the rest and you you quids in the process Razz

this is the AGM battery http://www.puredrivebatteries.co.uk/h15-va...ttery.html

As you can see they are a bit more than the standard batteries that are fitted to the pre 2010 cars, but I'd still reckon that they were £50-100 cheaper than the stealers.. and then there is the fitting fee and ECU reset.. I don't think that it would be far off the price of an IID Tool and the battery listed above Thumbs Up There is always a chance that a BT IID tool will do this on a non vin locked car.. I haven't tried... it will read live data.. I know i was looking at the injectors info on a pals ffrr Rolling Eyes Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but can anybody point me to the settings for the IID tool to reset the battery charge mode.

I’m awaiting my IID tool and have looked at their website and the listings of the parameters that can be updated, but I couldn’t find a seething to control this.

Many thanks

Many thanks Stan, I have seen the battery entries in the BCM menu, but that appears to be the type of battery i.e. H8 90Ah 800A. This does not appear to be a battery monitor reset value.

It also leads me to another problem. I know I have a Land Rover AGM battery 90Ah 850A, but none of the entries listed on the website appear to line up.
