Yeah, you can see why cars that have had a smash are never quite the same again, see how the rear doors and rear wing flex, and the ripples in the rear part of the roof and even the tailgate in the overhead shot... Thumbs Up

Yessir I agree. Perfect carfax is very underrated.

I also agree the l405 is very impressive. OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog

Whistle Glad to see that VW have got their priorities right... look after the cargo at all costs Laughing Thankfully they don't make them anymore Rolling Eyes I wonder how a 2010 ffrr would fare? and if it would be as good as the earlier L322? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Maybe the upgraded brakes and suspension might keep you out of an accident, but when the Censored hits the fan, it's the same structure in all the L322s, isn't it.

Interesting. Thumbs Up I did not know that. Is there more than one part number for the tailgate based on model year?

From what I can make out there is no difference in part numbers.... But from what I can hear there is a big difference Shocked

I just get the feeling that there were savings made in production costs in later models Whistle Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I doubt they have changed the thickness of metal, but I bet the earlier one had far more rustproofing and seam sealer inside the tailgate, thus damping the noise, they went overboard with the first series of 322 as BMW were in charge during design and planning and then tend to protect their cars well, when Ford took over, everything was pared back to the bone and as long as most bits got to the end of the rust warranty that's all they cared about...

Now Tata own it, well, they make the metal so it's in their interest to make them rot quick....

Or am I being too cynical....!!??? Pete

Whistle They have probably been playing with the emissions in the other tests, after the first was a flop Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter You can never actually know what they have done to the car... James May dropped a Lada from a helicopter and it flat packed it's self on impact.... but on reflection it must have had the drive train removed, otherwise the the toy helicopter that they used wouldn't have picked it up.....

I'm now beginning to wonder if it's not a test for a new van by Ikea but they have got the film running the wrong way Rolling Eyes Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
