Has anyone upgraded their 4.4 with a JE Engineering remap?

I have a 4.4 AB arriving in January and am considering the mod - it would be great to hear from an existing owner as I can't find any reviews online.

Thanks in advance.

I have had my 405 for a year and had a 322 with this engine before, of all the minor irritants the car has the engine map is not one, I really cant see any reason to bother.
The map in the sat nav should be binned on day 1. letters not necessarily in the right order

Thanks for your reply.

Love the engine but more torque I thought might be welcome.

Hopefully the new infotainment system will address Sat Nav issues.

I am also a bit of a speed freak - I had a remapped 3.6 TDV8 - and whilst I also subscribe to the more is better philosophy, I have never felt the need in the 4.4.

I would also be very interested to hear from anyone that has done this. I considered doing it on my old 4.4 l322 but there was concern raised about the ability of the gearbox to deal with it, it was already close to its maximum. I assume this is still the case with the L405 - reports/claims I read seemed to offer improved performance and fuel efficiency so assuming gearbox could deal with it, what's not to like!

A couple of things not to like Whistle

I always declared mine on my insurance - which increased the premium a bit, but not terribly - however, I did and an increasing number who refused to quote.

I had a BAS remap on my 3.6 which was easily removed by me. However, the JE remaps are installed by them, so I assume would have to be removed by them also. That means when you come to sell, you either have to pay for removal, or leave it on the car - if you leave it on, then you really need to declare it to the buyer - and I don't think I'd buy a used car that was remapped.....

I'm sure I read somewhere that the gearbox was right on the limit with the standard torque, any more and cocks will start flying....!!! Pete

Speaking from experience ? Have you had yours done ?

What does fully warranted really mean ? Is Rod warranting the gearbox too ?

Not on this one but Ive used them on loads of other cars in the past, highly recommended.

They used to warrant engine and drivetrain to match the OE warranty if ever something wasnt covered by the manufacture.

They also come out FOC if the map ever gets overwritten for whatever reason. '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

I had a chat with Mr Bell about something else entirely and mentioned that I now had a VSE.

I'm quite happy with my 2014 700nm but asked him if he did a map for it out of interest.

He said no, and thought that the reason later, more powerful engines went to only 740nm was that the manufacturer wouldn't warrant the gearbox to JLR beyond 750nm.

Someone should do what they want with their car, but my experience with Pete is that he tends to know what he's talking about on this sort of thing.
