Sorry mate., the iid tool is vin locked, upgrades are either replace unit from wiggs, discovery 4 upgrade, or buy an iid tool.
as I was told when contemplating the iid tool, it will save you £££ in the long run, and if you come to sell it, you won't lose a lot of money.
mine has already saved me £100's in diagnostics and upgrades, it's paid for itself.

Hi gregdav and weegie, thanks for your reply. Yes I do have to enter 2121 every time I sync and there is no phonebook/contacts. It will connect fine but the clarity of sound in the cab is very muffled and inaudible. I've priced up the iid module and nearly shat myself lol I understand that wiggs does a Bluetooth exchange but I'm not sure if this upgrade will cure the sound issue. Iid module may cure this but I can't afford to buy one unfortunately. Is there anyone out there who can do this for a fee??? I can travel

If someone has the IID tool you can swap units with them to perform the upgrade IIRC.

TBH I would take the plump and order a Disco4 unit and skip the upgrade, yes its more money but its a much better unit overall Smile even better when paired with a new mic Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Arhhhh lol now I really confused... disco 3/4 module fits??? Maybe an option, I'd love to buy the iid tool however it's just beyond my reach at present.. I'd settle for the in cab clarity improving on the one I got really, would one of Wiggs units cure the muffled in cab clarity?? I'd sooner have one of his exchange units if it will cure my issue. I have emailed Wiggs direct but as of yet I've heard nothing.
Thanks to the guys who have replied so far

Yes, it does fit but IIRC its only if you have touch screen nav, which yours being a 2005 it may not do Smile

There is a guide in the Wiki section showing how to install it and its not too hard, just take your time with the cables and job done as its not a plug and play option, but does require two cables splicing, but it is easy Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Chaps, had a search, what functionality does the d4 unit give over the original (nokia) unit that's got latest software? Cheers 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted

Seems better with background noise removal imo, shows contacts and phone info better, and much quicker connection due to using a newer Bluetooth connection so the speed of data between the two devices is a little quicker but I think the processing within the unit is actually whats giving most of the speed increase. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
