Which BT module do I need?

Looking to install/reinstate bluetooth in the FFRR. It is a late 2005 Vogue SE with the touchscreen infotainment system (MOST?).

Looks like it has had a factory phone install as it has the cradle in the centre armrest but no BT when I search with my phone.

Having read most of the threads on here re retrofitting BT and looking at the pic below of mine, I am guessing the phone module has been removed and the fibre optics joined to take it out of the loop.

Does this seem logical/likely and if so what module do I need to reinstate (have seen a few post about retrofitting a later BT module?)

Cheers,

MM

bluetooth module has been removed.

The fibreoptic (MOST) wire with the white lining has an inline connection to bypass the module if you look at the picture just above the DVD drive.

If you have a fish around you should find another plug floating about somewhere which powers the unit.

You are better off emailing Wiggs at http://bluetoothexchange.co.uk/ and get the newer style module (its not listed on his site but he can get them)

The phone cradle is redundant these days unless you still use an old nokia brick then I doubt you'll find a cradle to fit, just the bluetooth is used. Current

Thanks Stan, I have looked at that but assumed it was relevant to the replacement/upgrade of the pre MOST systems as it was referenced from a lot of these threads.

I guess in reality though it is the same unit so works for both MOST and BMW systems?

cheers,

MM

Thanks Andy,

challenge is I don't have the original so will have to pay the surcharge as well circa £100, Sad

Makes it £400+ all in!

Cheers,

MM

If you go through Wiggs there is no surcharge. You just buy the unit and he gives you a little cable to power it. Think it's about £240ish unless they've gone up.

Guessing you've rung the steelers for a price? Current

Just thought I would post an update for anyone else looking at this.

Contacted Adrian (Wiggs) at Bluetooth exchange and ordered the later unit - it was £240 delivered as suggested.

Arrived very quickly and followed the instructions which are literally as simple as pluging in the MOST cables (Adrian sent me a new connector as well as mine had been removed) and pushing the +ve and -ve feed into the old multiconnector. Took about 5 mins!!

Initially it wouldn't show a BT for me to connect to even though the unit was powered up so pinged ADrian for advice. Responded within an hour (on a Sunday evening Shocked ) to suggest checking that BT was enabled in the car config files.

Plugged in IID and yep, BT had been disabled! Changed to enabled and hey presto - LandRover appeared as a BT option on the phone. Also worth noting the "Cellular Telephone" option in the CCF should be set to "Cellular Telephone - cellular telephone docking station , with bluetooth" according to Adrian. Mine was set to "Telematics" - not sure what the diffierence is Rolling Eyes

Anyway, all now working, address book synced etc - can't recommend Adrian/Bluetooth exchange enough, really helpful and easy upgrade. £240 may seem a lot for the module but I use the Rangie for work and the convenience of built in handsfree is well worth the money.

Cheers,

MM

Bluetooth clarity 2005 l322

Hi, sorry to hijack the post.
I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth in my 2005 l322 td6. I have the iPhone 5 which connects to the Bluetooth fine using 2121 but no contacts etc.. I understand there's a mod I can do to upgrade that (Bluetooth exchange). My issue is that although my phone connects and it takes and makes calls however the incoming call clarity is very muffled and i can't hear them properly, the caller hears me fine..
any ideas please??

Ps my tv tuner box is not plugged in due it failing, the fibre optics to it have been properly connected
Many thanks

Do you have to redo the 2121 every time you enter the car?.
If so sounds like you need an update on the blue tooth unit.
since updating mine, the car automatically syncs my phone, which is a I phone 4s.
the phone contacts are on the screen. The only thing I don't get, is the up and down on the steering binnacle for sorting contact list.
everything else is fine, in fact brilliant.
Iid tool will do the update, can't recommend this piece of wizardry too much.
Thumbs Up

Jono, As Greg says, I think that you need to reflash the BT module. Needs something like the iiD tool to do it. John

Hi gregdav and weegie, thanks for your reply. Yes I do have to enter 2121 every time I sync and there is no phonebook/contacts. It will connect fine but the clarity of sound in the cab is very muffled and inaudible. I've priced up the iid module and nearly shat myself lol I understand that wiggs does a Bluetooth exchange but I'm not sure if this upgrade will cure the sound issue. Iid module may cure this but I can't afford to buy one unfortunately. Is there anyone out there who can do this for a fee??? I can travel
