Pressure washer other than Karcher...

They die as soon as you dont use them for 4 or 5 months. Cost of repairing at Karcher centres is always just a few quid short of a new one. I now have another dead one ( one of three I've owned ) and next door have had at least two in the last five years.
Want to spend around £100 maximum.

I've got Bosch one which is good. I've heard Nikaflex (or something similar) are quite good. "YYS" G4 FFRR

I have a nilfisk. Lasted 3 years so far.

Will never buy karsh again, and had far too many bosch machines (not pressure washers) break that I won't buy bosch again either.

Like the British use "Hoover" to mean to vacuum a carpet, the common term here for a pressure washer used to be "Gerni". Ron B. VK2OTC

I agree ref the Karcher quality, I replaced my old Karcher in the summer as the old one was leaking and lost pressure - the new one has started to do the same. I could go and replace it as it is still under warranty but I don't want another Karcher.

I use a Nilfisk it's sat in the garage and been frozen solid taken it indoors for a few hours to thaw out and it fires up straight away the only problems i've had is with two o-rings perishing ine inside the machine easy enough to strip apart and one in the lance apart from that still running fine after 6yrs L322 2008 vogue

With these things you do get what you pay for and being honest, £100 isn't going to buy anything decent.

Things to look for are the main pump assembly being devoid of plastic. Ceramic, brass etc are all good but they do come on more expensive machines. Also look for units where the cold water being pumped is used to cool the motor.

Nilfisk are decent as are Kranzle, but don't buy the cheapest model. I have a Nixon which will be too big for you and way too expensive, but these are aimed at farmers so they tend to last a lifetime. Mine's done 12 years now but I pad a grand for it. They also do all the spare parts but so far all I've bought is clean oil for the motor and pump. It is something to consider though, availability of spares at a reasonable price as it makes the thing repairable.

If going for a Nilfisk avoid the C models, C being for Consumer. The Pro models have a 2 year guarantee and come with decent spares backup. Brass cylinder heads etc they are well made.

Makita have also stepped into this market and based on their other tools they should be good, but they are at the cheaper end of the market.

The, right at the bottom end of the scale you get the £50 throwaway machines. Just accept them for what they are and how long they last.
