Help!! Valet messed me up - Key Problems before xmas

Any help welcome. Left my RR 07 TD8 in for a Valet earlier this evening and just got a call from the guy telling me the key would not turn in the ignition. I drove over to the garage and found my beloved RR half dead. Drivers seat buttons were dead (I tired to move it back from where they had been cleaning but nothing) I tried key in ignition and would not go beyond a qtr turn. I tried putting alarm on and off but not luck. I also tried lazy close and opening and noticed the windows did not all go down uniformly and when I tried lazy close the drivers window lagged behind and remained half open. I am sure that the valet had done something to disable the RR but cannot understand what. The only other thing I can think of is that I got a replacement key from Autokey about 6 months ago and was hoping it might be the problem but it seems like a big coincidence that the key fails the same time I leave it for valet.

I intend to call the main dealer in the morning and also go to the autokey place to check key but any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. If I have to get car recovered to main dealer over weekend I fear my wife will be without it for the Xmas period.

Thanks John

PS reason for the valet is that it is my wife RR so was giving it a spruce up for Xmas for her. Usually I do my own cleaning....... Big Cry

Wonder if your valet has been listening to the entertainment system whilst working and run the battery down? John

Sounds like the battery is flat to me. Everything you've listed as not working is electrical. If the doors have been open for a couple of hours, so interior lights on and (possibly) stereo too, the battery could easily be very flat indeed.

Definitely start with that, anyway. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

Sounds like they have had all the doors open for hours and flattened the battery. Get it on charge or put a booster/jump on it There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the suggestions - I just called the guy and asked him to plug it in overnight on a trickle charge and will hope that it comes back to life in the morning.

I've got to say a Valeter who doesn't know to put a trickle or even better a smart charger on any modern car whilst they are working doesn't know much about cars , all that opening and closing doors and keeping the car awake will kill anyones batterie double quick . 2008 MY Supercharged

I work in the car trade...I've yet to see a valetor put a charger on a car. Doors open and radio on is the norm I'm afraid! Censored
