Suspension recalibration!

I had a LR technician look at my car last night, kept throwing an air suspension error, I changed a height sensor and it hasn't come back, but he said my calibration was too high, and thinks that it was so high every time I go around a corner a sensor was going out of range, causing an articulation error! Does this look about right at different heights? Looks better to me than it was!

Seems to handle much better now too!

you can check the heights yourself using this chart,

in standard the front should be 1cm higher than the back..

There isn't a height for the stupid 22inch wheels that are on the car, I think we did it to 20. The guy said there wasn't much in it really!

Just measured the heights, perfect for 20inch wheels! Smile

I'm convinced mine is sitting too high.

Thanks for the above, been looking for that information for a few weeks now.

Those measurements Stan put up are taken from the centre of the hub so regardless of size of wheel they will work . 2008 MY Supercharged

Yes, I put the chart together for different rims because IIRC the All Comms was taking measurements from the rim not the hub centre, if not i know there was a reason for it!

All cars should be the same from the hub centre though!

I have my rear end (ooer!) up by @ 15mm on standard height, never had any errors on that? .

So do you set the heights using the calibration settings in the IID? Pretty convinced mine is sitting low at the rear and this was one of the next jobs to look at Smile

Cheers,

MM

the rear is supposed to be 1cm lower than the front..

yes, the iidtool can adjust the heights but read the manual first, it's a bit complicated...

Tim - mine was about 50mm too high all around!

It was done using a Snap On Solus! Worked perfect!

Just played with mine, initially FR = 500 FL = 520 RR = 470 RR = 490 so all over the place Shocked

Now adjusted it so we have it at 1 10mm drop from standard allround.

Only problem now is it has created a "pull to left" when driving - not sure how altering the ride heght could have done that unless the tyres have got uneven wear or something......

One more to the list to sort out Rolling Eyes

Cheers,

MM

Was that the measurements on the iid app or from taking them manually?? If from the iid app they will be all different ?

@ kbald

You don't get measurements from the IID Tool, you have to physically do it. IID Tool presents a sensor reading Which you adjust. They include a nice chart in the documentation or on the website to download when you intend to carry out a calibration.

@ mm289

Probably because you have two right rear wheels Laughing

Possibly if you had 4 wheel alignment done at those height settings, by calibrating you have put things out of kilter. Calibration is not something to "play" with ! You may need another alignment check, or you have an issue with bushes or tyres. Might be worth checking measurements again after a good run.... .

Hi joe90 that's what I meant if he simply changed the settings using the iid tool it won't be right so he would need to e measure correctly as per the chart you produced. On the Bluetooth iid it gives you figures for the suspension on the app.

yep, copious amount of measuring, then calibrated left to right but as the original measurements (measured from middle wheel to wheel arch) were so far out manually adjusted heights to get the car roughly square then recalibrated.

Then took for a run, remeasured to check it had retained the setting, then dropped 10mm all round. It has had numerous bushes done by PO but I have one annoying knock coming from front right which doesnt show itself when it is up on the 4 poster wheels in the air - once I have figured that one out I iwll do a final height check then put it in for a 4 wheel alignment Very Happy

@Joe - two RR wheels - well spotted Rolling with laughter just as well I used the charts from IID for doing the maths eh Thumbs Up

Cheers,

MM
