In for a penny…

So some late night YouTube watching led me to watch a Powerful video where they attempted to fit the later style steering wheel buttons to an early L405. Although the left one controlling the stereo worked, the right one controlling the cruise control didn’t.

Doing a little more digging around, les me to a Russian company who had developed a plug and play wiring loom to retrofit the later buttons.

Twelve hours later and I’ve managed to source some new takeoff buttons in the U.K. for £60 and I’ve ordered the look from a US seller from EBay. The loom was slightly more expensive than the buttons…

I’ll update this thread further once the good have arrived.

Managed to do the job today. Quite straight forward having watched a couple of videos from YouTube.

Surprisingly the wiring loom came on Monday when I only ordered it on Thursday all the way from America.

Everything works fine and I’m really happy with the results.

Nice job, well done Thumbs Up

Does the button with the dotted road lines on it control the lane assist on/off as per the well-hidden button next to the boot opener by my right knee? I'd love to be able to switch it off easily and quickly, I was driving down the A55 on Sunday where they're had painted over the original road markings to shift the lanes over for roadworks and it was at best, a nightmare and at worst, lethal as it kept trying to steer me back towards a temporary barrier. Going through the menu to disable it is fiddly FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

I don’t have lane assist so wouldn’t know 😂

All the other buttons work including the heated steering wheel one which I was worried about.

Powerful tried fitting them without an updated loom and it didn’t work. The loom was the most expensive part of the job…
