man maths

Thoughts, I have been thinking of changing my 2006 TDV8 for something else, I have been going round in circles thinking of an alternative, I love the RR it is the 5th I have had, and I cant think what to get. Conclusion I have come to is L405 3.0 Vogue , it looks like real world fuel economy will be around 60% better and road tax about half, make sense???

I justified a good proportion of my L405 on the much improved fuel economy Thumbs Up

Don't forget to factor in all the things that are about to go wrong with a 10 year old car too Whistle

SDV8 VSE - I get much more than I used to, but not as high as some - mainly due to being the owner of a lear right foot.....

A fill of somewhere between 85 & 90 litres gets me 550 miles at worst and 650 at best.

Just worth checking which L405 3.0 diesel is the one going pop. I understand that there is a 3.0 lump with quite a high failure rate.

Otherwise, sounds a good option to me. Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

My 3.0 TDV6 L405 averages about 34mpg. I also like the road tax at £230 although the benefit is entirely psychological given the overall cost of ownership.

I must either have a problem with car or doing something wrong - I get about 350 miles to the tank in my SDV8!!

I do mostly open A roads & motorways - only about 20% around town - but even so, 350 sounds poor.

Well just filled mine up, got down to 4 miles left on range. Tank took 80.5 litres and range showed 382 miles... no idea if that is 'normal' or not? I am a little confused or mistaken as I vaguely remember people saying their cars take 85-90 litres, mine certainly doesn't. Maybe i have taken that out of context & it was a different model, or even engine. I thought they had an 82 litre tank, which my recent fill seems to confirm ?

Edit: just googled and it looks like it is an 86 litre tank
