Funny smell of air freshener in the cabin

Recently I've detected a funny smell that I can only describe as smelling like those air fresheners that you place in front of the air vents in your dash. I don't use one of those so I'm wondering what the cause might be.

It occurs regardless of whether the aircon is on or not. Can't really trace it to any specific area in the cabin and as yet I haven't been able to smell it outside when I park up.

The car has recently had the following work done on it:

Replacement EGR valve.
Replacement power steering fluid cooler.
Replacement screen washer pump.

The latter two had caused leaks visible on the ground but that has now stopped.

Anyone know what might cause that kind of smell? I suppose I should be thankful it doesn't smell of manure or something Rolling Eyes 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black

Could it be screen wash fluid? The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays

I did wonder. It was raining yesterday and I did use the washers briefly once. Today is fine so I'll see if the smell continues. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black

Coolant leak? I had a tiny one and it smelt sweet for some reason?

Likely a coolant leak - coolant is quite sweet smelling - anyone who has had the heater matrix on a P38 leak will know that smell. Current Fleet:-
