Collection Checklist??

With collection day fast approaching, i just wondered if their's any specifics i should be mindful of checking when collecting my new car?

Things such as PDI stamped in the service book, relevant books/manuals in the car & any cables/adapters that should be in the car for the Infotainment & any subscriptions the Dealer needs to activate.

Really what i'm asking is should i be checking for anything that's say more specific to the FFRR or things that LR dealers have a tendency to forget at handover?

I'm not one for being shown how everything works so will do that at my own leisure & revert to the manual if i really can't work it out for myself.

Three little things to be aware of Paul that in our experience can be overlooked.

1 : all latest software updates are applied

2: correct amount, or indeed any, adblue has been added.

3: soft close function is enabled on drivers door, this is disconnected in transit and sometimes forgotten

Thanks.

As regards Spare Wheel lift device, i didn't spec the full sized spare wheel so would the device still be present?

Decided to take Complete Wheelcare cover instead.

I think it only comes with 22's - though not really sure why as the weight difference can't be that much.... but I guess with a space saver it won't be there

Hi
I cannot understand why you did not go for the full spare wheel. The cost of £250 is great for a new tyre and a full sized alloy.
I also had the wheel cover with mine and I thought it only covered the first two years even though the warranty covers three. Only used it once and that was in the first month when I planted a curb Embarassed

Sorry if I am wrong???

I'm amazed a full size spare isn't standard on a car like this. Good value, try buying a new alloy and tyre for that price.

Wow you lot have seriously different priorities.

1. Does the totty on reception have a short enough skirt on.
2. get car letters not necessarily in the right order

It's a fair point & wasn't down to cost, but the last few cars i've owned have not come with a spare wheel of any size, just a (get you home re-inflation kit) & i've yet to be caught out having had zero punctures (that could be famous last words).

Given the size/weight of the FFRR i decided lugging a 22" wheel around in the boot was less than desirable & as i chose the Inchape Complete Wheelcare plan which i got at cost, it made no sense having that & the full sized spare. The Plan is for i think 3yrs, may even be 5yrs & covers 5 replacement tyres or puncture repairs as well as i think up to 8 wheel replacements/repairs so i'd need to suffer some very bad luck to fully utilise that.

Lol.

1. It depends as one's a heifer moose & the other is bang tidy, so pot luck really.
2. The dealer in question doesn't instil me with confidence as have several times made mistakes & offered things later to be found as unavailable such as the Service Pack & Factory collection. I've never had any JLR previously so wanted to be sure i don't miss upon collection any important items/details that dealers tend to forget.

Check the tyre pressures too. Mine were way too high, I assume for when it was on the transporter.

Wrong Engine?? Now that would be quite a feat for any dealer/mfctr.

Saying that, i've chosen the TDV6 so if they've slapped a SDV8 in by accident then i'm quids in:)

When I arrived to collect mine, the invoice paperwork said TDV6 - but turned out to be a clerical error - I did go out and open the bonnet to check though Laughing

There was someone who ordered adaptive headlights - and the car was delivered without - turned out they can't be retro fitted, so he kept the car until they built the right one and he took delivery of that Shocked so read this be ready Whistle

These dealers do appear unable to instil confidence with actions like that.

On the matter of the Adaptive headlights which i've spec'd, is their an obvious way to tell they're on the car? It might sound a stupid question but i'm collecting the car in daylight & will be on my own. Do the Adaptive headlights look different visually or the DRL's any different?
