Anyone going Ski-ing next week?

Heading to the Alps tomorrow, Shuttle Crossing at midday then down to Dijon for an overnight and on to the resort (La Chapelle in the Portes de Soleil) on Sunday morning. Getting the chains and roof bars sorted out just now.

Anyone else heading that way?

The thing is, it's French half-term holiday time right now. One zone (of 3) has just started, another zone joins them the following week.
Snow conditions look good, though, so bon ski! It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 5 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Yep - that's why I came home last weekend after 5 weeks in Deux Alpes Thumbs Up (I'm fully embracing this no kids thing Very Happy )

The queues coming up the mountain & the tailbacks for a good way further didn't look like much fun.

Alistair ^^: I once went summer skiing in Les Deux Alpes. It's a most peculiar sensation coming down in the cable car after a morning's skiing, dressed in full winter togs, arriving at the bottom station and seeing people sunbathing in swimwear!
My apologies, I've gone off-thread ... It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

No, this is why. That was yesterday and the temp is in Celsius and the latest forecast is that it will be hotter today.

Just had a few days in Fiss - Austria. Very nice.

Did some cliff skiing, delivered a load of milk tray to various ladies.

Just come back from st Martin Belleville, very quiet compared to meribel that's for sure!
Loads of snow started coming down the last few days Sad but was cracking when the runs were open as it got quite windy and at one point the cross over to les menures(!) was so windy that if you didn't pole and carry speed you would get blown back along the crossover, I kid you not! Luckily we got the lift back up quickly before it was closed and luckily I didn't end up needing the orange trailer of shame that one of our group ended up needing to get off the mountain Smile

I really want to go one year and take the rangey or even the jeep as it would be much fun and adventure and he fact you don't get stuck paying silly money for food by shooing in Lyon or dijoun on the way up, unless it's a Sunday and after 1200hrs Sad Sad Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

off to Andorra week on thurs then to Les Arcs at the beginning of April, I hope there will be some snow left!!!!!!

First trip is flying the second is driving. Wish I was there now though as the snow looks Ace.

Has anyone used solutions4feet in bicester to fit ski boots? Trying to get mine right, have been adjusted many times but are still a bit uncomfortable! Have seen good things about them so might see if they can do a job on them to force them into shape! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Arrived after a trouble free run and a good overnight stop in Dijon. Journeys like that are why I love having a FF.

Snow a bit off by the time I hit the slopes, turning to mush and not gripping, so a bit dicey in places. More snow is definitely needed, but nothing is forecast.

NMJ, for proper boot fitting you are better off getting it done by a boot shop in a resort. I've had to have UK fitted boots re done too many times in the resort to ever bother with UK fitting again.

Cheers Andy,

I have had them adjusted by the chaps at one of the boot stores in Les arcs. They have done a pretty decent job just a bit more will have them bob on!
It's just I'm off to soldeu which is where I got the boots from, and the store there did a 💩 job, so just wanted to get a bit more tweaking done before I go. Had a go on the snow dome today for an hour and they seemed OK but it's tricky to judge as you are on your feet constantly, whereas you have a good sit down on proper ski lifts!

Hope you get some better snow, if it's not great now it doesn't bode well for an Easter ski!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
