4.2 SC 10 year service

Car is due an Inspection 2 service. Asked the local Indy and he's come back at £335 which seems reasonable. However he mentioned that the car is 10 years old this year abd he would suggest the 10 year service which would be an extra £600 on top.
It includes gearbox oil and filter changed, coolant, brake fluid and axle oils.

It seems like a good idea but can't find mention of it in the service schedule. Has anyone else had this done?

The car has covered 57k miles. Jordan

Agree with Mark, oil, brake fluid and coolant can all have a shelf life of not much more than 5 years so in a working environment it's definitely worth changing them, whenever I buy a car older than 5 years I change all the fluids... well worth the money...
You won't see much on the service schedule about it because they don't really care what happens to your car past it's warranty period....
Thumbs Up Pete

It is in there, the brake fluid more frequent but the diff and transfer box oils are about 10 years iirc. The gearbox is definitely worth doing, at that sort of mileage you should notice an improvement in shifts. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've just had mine done, total cost just over a grand with MOT & a couple of gaskets replaced. I thought it was worth doing as even though mine now has 137,000 miles I've had her since new & can't find anything that I fancy to replace her, so she's a keeper for the foreseeable Thumbs Up

Mine has more or less been done.

The main dealer did the service a few weeks ago combined with the front brake pipe recall and I had the diff and transfer box oil changed a few years ago.

The dealer wanted over £600 to do the gearbox, so I took mine to a highly recommended gearbox specialist called Hardy Engineering in Leatherhead who did it for £300 using the same oil, but also fitted an aluminium sump and a separate filter to make the next oil change easier and cheaper. Si. <This is my name.
