strange intermittent noise on motorway at 100kph ( 60MPH) -

I had an intermittent wind noise from the front of the vehicle 2003 L322 TD6, it is exactly like when you blow across the top of the neck opening on a glass bottle. It would come and go whilst I was on the motorway ( there was a slight cross wind blowing ) it was quiet loud and became annoying, it did this for a few kilometers then disappeared , What would cause this. Windscreen?

I also get that noise at about the same speed, I've put it down to wind noise.
mine seems to be coming from the n/side (passenger).
Haven't got a clue where its focused.

I had that on my 2011 and it turned out to be the side vents being a bit loose. 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

check and clean the sunroof seals, they can get a bot crusty and cause a noise, my 12 did this when upto about 80 in france, quick check and clean and all was ok.

could be that, but also check the edging round the windscreen and the bit where the roof rail strips meet the top of the screen and also check you have all 4 covers on the roof rack fix points as if you have one missing then this can cause some wind noise. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had two similar noises at different times.

First was caused by something in the air vents. Strangely switching off the fan and switching back on cleared it. Might have been dried leaves or something.

Second was a missing clip for the black plastic A pillar cover. Apparently the new design clips are bigger than the old and fit better. Autoglass found it when fixing a chip and replaced the clip. No noise now. 2012 5.0L S/C

I had this on my L322 a few years back. I had stored one of those 1L bottles of oil and a rag behind the battery and that was causing it. Several good suggestions above. Try the simple stuff first, what you have is air not flowing as LR intended.

Yes, I had a noise caused by a similar problem after having had a new windscreen fitted. The plastic strip down the sides of the windscreen was loose, and I could almost take it off (but couldn't see it bending back when I was driving, obviously). Autoglass came back and fitted new clips.

Hi

This is usually due to the recirculation flaps. You can test it by turning the recirculation system off and on and you'll hear it. There is a a range rover kit specifically designed to address this, look up TSB number LTB00350NAS2
