Part number for BMW (2002-2007) v8 petrol fuel pump

Hi, does anyone (apart from saintV8) know the part number for the BMW version of the l322 fuel pump?

Looking to replace mine as it has started "kangarooing" and don't fancy an £800-900 bill for fitting the gen LR part (which I am certain must be a bosch anyway?)

Frankly a bit of a mine field. I personally think the best way to do it (if you want to save money, and are going to keep the RR)) is to buy a genuine Bosch pump and put it into the original housing.

Problem is that many of the 'OEMs' are actually made in China and possibly of dubious quality:

When my pump died a couple of weeks ago I was desperate to get it back on the road for work reasons and my mobile mechanic didn't want to start pulling apart the existing housing and swapping pumps over, so I got an 'OEM' pump from a recommended supplier, having said that, it could in all possibility be a cheap copy and I've paid a couple of hundred £s more I should have. I noticed some online LR parts suppliers are listing 3 qualities, genuine, OEM and cheap...

The job still isn't finished on mine, see my thread 'serious fuel leak'. I did make sure I got genuine LR gaskets and sealing rings for the pump and inspection accesses, but I've got a nasty leak. Also, it seems as though since the job was done my fuel gauge is playing up.

Are you sure you have a failing pump? might be worth while checking fuel pressure using the schrader valve on the fuel rail.

Personal experience with intermotor fuel pumps on other vehicles has made me wary, (failing), they are cheap for a reason. Save your pennies and by Bosch
