Sorry yes with you now! I hadn't realised you meant "a Rupert" rather than a chap called Rupert!

Ditto. Only Rupert I've ever heard of: Embarassed

Actually "Rupert" applies to any officer from junior lieutenant upwards when spoken of by "other" (I.e non-officer) ranks.

Comes from when officers came mainly from the upper classes and had ridiculous names such as tarquin and Rupert and Cedric etc.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Will pop some interior pictures up this evening if I get chance.

L322 S/C going well, just over 1000 miles into ownership now and nothing to report.

I even got the venture camera working at the weekend to be fair, it just worked nothing wrong with it other than the battery being flat. Although it was in the glove box it had not been pushed "up" into its docked location so the battery was not charged.

Will investigate in a few days to see if the battery still holds charge or not.

We leave to go on holiday in a few days and do the "NC500" which is a tourism initiative from the Scottish tourist board for the coastal route round the top of scotland. Inverness - Applecross - Torridon - Kylesku - Durness - John o Groats - Dunrobin - Inverness etc. I suspect this will be at least 1500 miles (including our travel up there) in the old girl so hope she's feeling up to it.

I checked the oil yesterday, fully expecting it to need some, it is an LR product after all but apparently not! 2005 E60 M5

Interior pictures as requested, the first 4 are from the previous owner, as you can see it actually looked pretty good. Considering shes done 120k its not bad at all. However I sent it for an interior valet and the last three pictures are a "during" showing a cleaned side and a dirty side of a seat. I don't have any "afters" as it were. but you can see how much of an improvement was made during the valet.

And During

Once we are back from Scotland in a couple of weeks I will get her back into the valet place for another clean inside and out. There are one or two cosmetic details I want to get addressed but figured there was little point before doing 1500 miles round Scotland as no doubt she will pick up a few more marks whilst we are up there 2005 E60 M5

My tdv8 is a similar age and has a similar colour interior, with 260k km or 185k miles. The interior in these cars seems to cope very well with regular use. My drivers seat cushion has been replaced but otherwise original.

I look forward to reading about how the SC went in your next trip. ______________________________

The trip round the top of Scotland went fantastically well. The old girl performed very well belting round the very north of the country. We covered about 1500 miles all told and averaged just shy of 20mpg overall. Little man was pleased with the RSE. The only issue we had was a slow puncture which was easily repaired.

Shes now due a service, spoke to the local main dealer and laughed when they quoted £500 for an oil change. So I've ordered the correct oil and genuine filters (including air and pollen) for £130 and just need a garage to do the work now, when I get 5 minutes.

Only a couple of pictures but here goes.

Mine has just gone over 100,000 miles and the interior is still holding up well also.

I want to get mine detailed this summer as it needs it inside more than anything.

Great cars, would like to do the NC500 but think I would take the M5 Touring rather than the RR.

cheers Alex
