Tinted windows warning !!

Just seen a few posts on this recently and thought I would share something I did wrong with tinted windows....When I bought the car the salesman said that the tinted windows were factory fitted and therefore the actual glass was tinted as opposed to the film being added later. Having cleaned the inside of the vehicle I decided to use my Karcher window cleaner suction device to remove the excess water and give them a nice clean finish, the result was a beautiful wavy effect on each window. Took it back to dealers and said that either the salesman told a little fib or I have a Karcher that can bend glass....just a warning !! They all needed replacing at MY cost.... Embarassed I need more help than most...sorry !!

YOUR cost....why ? Evil or Very Mad

Salesman told you they were part of the glass. He lied. You followed his word and there is now a fault.

So he tells you it's a petrol. You go to the garage and put petrol in.....it's a diesel...your paying for the repair right ?

Think not.... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I agree but it became my word against his ( even though he hadn't worked there long ), the sales manager said that it was very rare to find tinted glass from a production line as 99% are done after market with film because of cost and used as a carrot to clinch the sale....needless to say I haven't been back since.... Crying or Very sad I need more help than most...sorry !!

Slightly off topic, but related. Can someone help me out here, why is there such a fashion for making expensive cars look like expensive vans by blacking out the rear windows? Looks (to me) especially bad on black or dark coloured cars. Drives:

Rolling Eyes Yawn there's always one

No one can help you understand - it's a taste thing - just like different wheels, different grills, even paintwork and interior colour

Simple really, if you don't like them, don't have them - but don't expect others to understand your lack of taste Whistle
